Kim and Brian’s Tiffany Blue Fantasy Wedding at the Hotel Del Coronado

Welcome to one of my favorite weddings of 2011 in which the darling, always-smiling Kim Lugtu wed her beloved Brian Nagami at the Hotel Del Coronado.

Kim’s vision was clear: Tiffany Blue with touches of sunny yellow, orchids, orchids (did I mention the Bride loves orchids?) everywhere and luxurious details at every turn.

The decor was masterfully created by Karen Tran Florals and event beautifully coordinated by Susanne Duffy and her Crown Weddings Team. How wonderful it was to work with two of the top luxury wedding experts to contribute to this day.

Guests first learned of this amazing wedding when they received a couture boxed invitation in which Simply Posh Design modified a traditional Japanese pattern in their color palette to build the outer mailing box and then designed a tiffany blue silk invitation folio with the couples signature orchid motif embroidered on the front. Each invitation suite included several letterpress pieces enhanced with small swarovski crystals to add sparkle and light.

We were delighted to work with the happy couple to later design all ceremony and reception stationery which included custom paddle fan programs, intricate menus and my favorite — precious origami crane place cards.

As you will see from the photos below, there was not an inch of this event that was left bare. Exquisite and unexpected details from the unique ceremony aisle design flanked with trees dripping in white orchid leis, to gorgeous vintage jewel details used to enhance all floral creations, guests were given a day of delightful discovery and extreme elegance.

Randi & David – -an Elegant Starfish Themed Wedding at L’Auberge Del Mar

Whereas it is always an honor to be entrusted with a happy couple’s stationery design, when the opportunity comes to create something special for a friend, it is truly an honor beyond measure.

Simply Posh Design was delighted to work with this extraordinary couple for several months creating an entire suite of custom starfish inspired stationery. The tone was set as guests received boxed invitations from our couture collection featuring a natural starfish embellished with an exquisite crystal brooch. We carried their wedding monogram and seaside theme throughout all aspects of their ceremony and reception stationery including darling program booklets with a lovely note of thanks to the wedding guests and explanation of Jewish wedding ceremony traditions, starfish with guest names and table assignments tied with scrumptious hand-dyed silk ribbon to serve as elegant and unexpected place cards, and my personal favorite… luxurious silk board wedding menus complete with swarovski crystal embellishments.

Always our top posh pick for florals and event decor design, Karen Tran Florals transformed the L’Auberge Del Mar Resort into fantasy land of elegant seaside inspired design. Maintaining the couples contemporary taste and neutral color palette of soft whites and shimmering champagne, Karen Tran meticulously incorporated the signature starfish symbol of their wedding throughout her floral creations and all decor decisions. Bravo Karen!

Exquisite Pink and White Wedding Decor Details

Details. Details. Details. There is no better way to create a truly unique and unforgettable event than paying special attention to adding exquisite details that your guests can discover throughout the day.

During the recent Soolip Bridal Event in Orange County, California, the team at Karen Tran Florals showcased their talents by creating this stunning table top using a palette of petal pink, ivory and touches of sherbert hues. At first glance it is of course beautiful… but it’s the second, third and fourth glances and the discovery of countless details that will keep your guests talking for days.

Floral designs were displayed using boxes in several shapes and sizes wrapped with scrumptious silk and then adorned with anything from rows of blush toned ostrich feathers, vintage crystal brooches and my personal favorite, little handmade rosettes carefully constructed from frayed dupioni silk. Gorgeous!

Simply Posh Design contributed couture menus to this lovely display using ivory silk pocket boards enhanced with handmade embossed mother-of-pearl paper, double faced satin ribbon and layers of shimmering card stock complete with swarovski crystal embellishments.

Setting the Gold Standard — Linda and Steven’s Grand Del Mar Wedding

For most girls, finding the ideal spouse can be a real challenge. Not for Linda Wang. She met her beloved Steven at the age of 14 and has been happily in love ever since. With more than a decade of dreaming about her ideal wedding, Linda’s vision was clear — GOLD and GRAND!

It wasn’t long after Linda and Steven entered the gorgeous Grand Del Mar Resort during a bridal show and stumbled upon an opulent gold and ivory table top vignette designed by Karen Tran Florals they knew they had found the perfect place and perfect event stylist to manifest their dream wedding vision into a reality. In no time, Linda and Steven assembled what they affectionately referred to as their “dream team” including the always stylish Catherine Bachelier-Smith of CBS Weddings for their event coordination, the sharp lens of Aaron Feldman from True Photography to capture the day and yours truly from Simply Posh Design to handle all their stationery needs.

To set the tone for this Grand Affair, I worked closely with the couple to design a custom wedding monogram which would be used in all their paper goods — beginning with a gorgeous save-the-date bedazzled with a dozen gold swarovski crystals sent to their guests. Next, we designed a luxurious wedding invitation bringing back their monogram and adding handmade papers and an ornate crystal brooch. Menus, escort cards and darling favor tags were designed to complement their style and we then reintroduced their monogram as the focal point gracing a large custom dance floor.

Karen Tran Florals created a truly majestic ceremony and reception by designing breathtaking large scale floral arrangements in hand painted glass vases adorned with strands of shimmering jewels and large crystal brooches, sumptuous gold linens, bejeweled napkin rings, gold leafed baroque table signs and then enhanced all the decor by incorporating the soft glow of candlelight housed in stunning glass vessels. Bravo Karen!
