White and Silver Winter Wedding Wonderland — a Royal Wedding at the US Grant Hotel
Inspired by the soft hues of twilight against a blanket of freshly fallen snow, this magical winter wonderland wedding day was born.
Last week happy couples from far and wide made a trip to the historic San Diego U.S. Grant Hotel to attend their 2011 “Royal Wedding” Bridal Show in which top professionals in the wedding industry were asked to design their own version of a royal affair. Our team, led by Karen Tran Florals and Crown Weddings transformed the space into a modern day Camelot using a palette of crisp white, glistening silver and exquisite crystal details at every turn.
Simply Posh Design was delighted to contribute all stationery items including a couture bejeweled wedding invitation and luxurious menus with large crystal brooches fit for a King and Queen. In addition, many guests left with a special gift designed by Simply Posh inviting them to Dance, Laugh and Love during their entire wedding day by hiring a perfect team of wedding professionals to handle their event from start to finish which highlighted the talents of Crown Weddings, Karen Tran Florals, Simply Posh Design and Pam Scott Photo.
Orange Crush – A Modern Twist to Retro Design
Dig this Daddy-O. Sometimes inspiration comes from unexpected places. In this case, fabulous event stylist Aileen Tran drew her inspiration from the color orange, a love for modern design and the spirit of 1960′s pop culture.
Juxtaposing hard and soft, warm and cold, Aileen brought white fur, luxurious dupioni silk, vintage mercury balls and sleek glass canisters to her design to compliment the vibrant orange roses, ranunculas, white orchids and tulips bursting from stark white vases.
Simply Posh Design created the reception stationery. Drawing inspiration from David Adler prints and fabulous frocks once worn by 1960′s supermodel Twiggy, two bold geometric patterns were developed as menu backgrounds to add a little panache to each place setting.
And let’s not forget the hip dessert lounge Aileen designed featuring a clear acrylic bar, canisters of calla lilies and assortment of white and silver candies to delight in as a sweet treat to end the night.
Thanks to Pam Scott for capturing the cool vibe of this design.
VH1′s Tough Love Peacock Feather Inspired Wedding
After months of competition, eliminations and sharing the intimate details of their lives through the lens of reality television, Simone and Dennis were at last among the top two winning couples featured on Vh1′s Tough Love Couples; The Wedding Episode. And what was the prize you ask? Only a phenomenal, crazy, over-the-top dream wedding designed by my favorite floral artist Karen Tran.
Much like their appearances on the show, Dennis and Simone’s wedding was bold, colorful and full of delightful surprises including the usage of peacock feathers throughout their decor, vintage crystal brooches and one-of-a-kind ring bearer and flower girl floral arrangements. So inspired by their theme, Simply Posh Design created two custom menu designs enhanced with a colorful array of swarovski crystals, hand dyed silk ribbon and peacock feathers to grace the guest tables. With the Pacific Ocean glistening in the background, their wedding took place at San Diego’s own Paradise Point Resort and Spa on a perfect sunny day last April.
Many thanks to Pam Scott Photography for capturing these beautiful detail shots.
Tres Chic — Vintage French Wedding Table Inspiration
I am so pleased to introduce the talents of Aileen Tran through this amazing Old Paris inspired table top she thoughtfully designed earlier this year.
Mixing shades of aubergine, amethyst, silver, plum and every shade of purple in between, Aileen created this mysterious dark beauty befitting of its Parisian inspiration complete with a velvet black ostrich feather every now and then to add depth and drama.
Exclusive to its parent company Karen Tran Florals, are the stunning crystal jeweled embellishments seen below. Simply Posh Design was delighted to contribute custom bejeweled menus and table signs using the glorious iron work that is woven throughout the City of Lights as my own design inspiration.
Thanks to Pam Scott Photography for capturing every detail — vive le france!
